Ecoener joins the United Nations Global Compact

-The world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

-Ecoener ratifies its commitment to sustainability by joining the Compact.

La Coruña, 15 March 2022.- Ecoener, the Galician multinational renewable energy group, has joined the United Nations Global Compact as a partner.  The company has thereby committed to aligning its operations and strategies with the Ten Universally Accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and pledges to take action in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

“Ecoener is now a member of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative”, said the company’s founder and president Luis de Valdivia. “There are currently more than 19,000 members of the Compact in 165 countries, which means Ecoener is joining thousands of companies worldwide to work towards a common goal. This adherence to the Compact also strengthens a fundamental principle of our business and management model. Sustainability has underpinned our decisions for more than 30 years”.

Ecoener will continue to work to reaffirm its commitment to social, environmental and good governance initiatives that show the company’s transparency in contributing to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “We focus on long-term value creation and carefully monitor the impact of our activities on people and the environment at all times, contributing responsibly to the progress of society”, Luis de Valdivia added.

UN Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact, launched in 2000, is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. There are currently more than 19,000 participants in over 165 countries and 70 local networks*.

In Spain, more than 2,100 organizations have joined the initiative, making it the Local Network with the largest number of participants and as such, the largest in the world.
