ECOENER receives 3.6 million Feder Funds for the construction of 5 parks in Gran Canaria

Ecoener has received 3.6 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the construction of five new wind farms on the island of Gran Canaria.

The investment will benefit five parks that are already under construction in the Canarian municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the installed capacity will be a total of 22.4MW. In addition to the 29.2MW that Ecoener already has in the same municipality.

This aid is the first call for investment in wind power electrical energy production facilities located in the Canary Islands. Thus, Ecoener is the only company that has obtained financial aid in all of the projects presented in the auction, obtaining the third best score of the thirty submitted projects.

Ecoener shows its contribution to energy transition for a more sustainable world once again. The CEO of Ecoener, Luis de Valdivia, points out that:

these parks will be located next to one of the existing thermal power plants on the island, so that their visual and environmental impact is zero, thus becoming a symbol of the change from fossil to renewable energies"
