The ECOENER GROUP promotes clean energy with five new wind farms in Gran Canaria

With an investment of 37 million euros, these five new parks will be located in the Canarian municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

These parks are added to those that the company already has in the municipality, becoming the wind power complex with the highest capacity installed in the Canary archipelago.

Gran Canaria, April 3, 2019

In San Bartolomé de Tirajana the ECOENER GROUP will create the largest wind farm in the Canarian archipelago. 22.4 new megawatts are to be added to the two parks that the Ecoener group already has in that municipality, reaffirming Ecoener’s commitment to clean energy and the reduction of polluting gases in the Canary Islands.

The CEO of Ecoener, Luis de Valdivia, highlights that “these parks will be located next to one of the existing thermal power plants on the island, so that the visual and environmental impact is zero, thus becoming a symbol of the change from fossil energy to renewable energy ”.

This wind farm will be formed by the parks named “P.E. La Caleta”,“P.E. Arcos del Coronadero”,“P.E. Lomo del Moral”,“P.E. Las Casillas 1” and “El Rodeo”. Enercon E-48 wind turbines will be used with an annual production that will cover the equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 19,200 families.

In addition, these parks will mean the reduction in the emission of 1.7 million tons of CO2 and a saving of more than 76 million euros in the current costs of electricity production.
