• The company has achieved the Dark Green category, confirming that its activities are fully aligned with a low-carbon economy and the aims of the Paris Agreement.
La Coruña, 16 April 2026.- Ecoener has achieved the highest climate rating of Dark Green in the Climate Transition Assessment (CTA), carried out by S&P Global Ratings. This independent analysis measures the company’s current and future climate performance. This assessment confirms that Ecoener’s activities are fully aligned with a low-carbon economy and the aims of the Paris Agreement.
S&P Global Ratings concludes that, for the 2025 financial year, 100% of the company’s revenue, OPEX and CAPEX come from activities classified as Dark Green, relating exclusively to the development, construction, operation and generation of energy from renewable sources.
The assessment also highlights that Ecoener’s close alignment applies not only to current activities, but also to future ones. S&P Global Ratings has identified no exposure to carbon-intensive activities or significant risks of climate misalignment arisin from business developments, which reinforces the robustness and consistency of Ecoener’s growth strategy.
Furthermore, the agency welcomes the fact that the company has a clear decarbonisation plan and climate targets based on scientific evidence. It also positively notes Ecoener’s expansion into markets with low renewable energy penetration, such as the Dominican Republic, where the company is contributing directly to the transition towards a less carbon-intensive energy system. The analysis also acknowledges the company’s investment in energy storage projects, which facilitate the integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid.
This rating builds on Ecoener’s previous results obtained in the Shades of Green S&P Global Ratings, in which it had already achieved the highest environmental rating. This confirms not only the environmental quality of its assets, but also the consistency of its current and future climate strategy.
This recognition consolidates Ecoener’s position as a company that is fully committed to the energy transition and dedicated to developing a decarbonised, resilient and sustainable energy system.
