A Coruña, 11 July 2024.- Ecoener has been awarded Standard & Poor’s highest rating, Dark Green, for the second year in a row to the company’s management of OPEX and CAPEX.
The agency’s report highlights “the proven and sustained commitment of the company to environmental preservation, while stressing that all of the company’s revenues come from 100% renewable sources".
To explain this highest rating, S&P’s report considers that “Ecoener’s sustainability vision is clearly articulated” and underlines the high level of execution for a company of its size.
This year, the report includes sustainability governance, in which the company obtains a high global rating due to its “solid presence in the Board of Directors and Steering Committee”. The rating firm also reflects Ecoener’s strong commitment to decarbonisation and environmental protection.
A commitment that we implement in all countries
Standard & Poor’s reports that all Ecoener subsidiaries follow the same procedures and protocols as the parent company when operating in new regions and highlights Ecoener’s integration of “highly qualified professionals who are familiar with the rules and regulations” of each particular country. Accordingly, the rating agency indicated that “Ecoener’s reporting is transparent and in line with international best practices”.
S&P establishes its sustainability ratings through its subsidiary Shades of Green, which rates companies in five levels, each of which is assigned a specific colour. Within the range of colours, the Dark Green obtained by Ecoener is the highest level, awarded to those organisations with absolute control of carbon emissions in their projects, solutions and long-term operations.
Shades of Green, integrated in S&P since 2022, is a world-leading institute for interdisciplinary climate research founded in 1990 by the company CICERO. It works on high-quality research and knowledge to help society respond to the climate challenge and strengthen international climate cooperation.
Third annual Sustainability Report
Ecoener also releases its third Sustainability Report, which has been audited by the international certifying company TÜV SÜD to verify that it has been drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards.
This annual document contains all the information on environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance to guarantee the transparency and traceability of the company’s operations and to communicate Ecoener’s commitment to sustainable development to its stakeholders.
