Las Fuentes II Hydroelectric Power Plant
Las Fuentes II Hydroelectric Power Plant
14.2MW Installed Power
Our first overseas hydroelectric plant is located in the Bocacosta region of Guatemala, where rubber, coffee and sugar cane are grown.
To protect the environment, the water is returned to the river through a buffer pond to avoid disruption of the river ecosystem, which is unique in Central America.
This 14.2 MW facility is a magnificent example of our commitment to the environment. The entire project was built with local labour, using resources and technology existing in the region and mostly with the materials obtained on site, such as timber, stone, and bamboo.
