Llanos de la Aldea Wind Farm
Contributing to the decarbonisation of the Canary Islands

San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria Island, España
Location
The Llanos de la Aldea wind farm (Gran Canaria Island, Spain) is built on an arid area of the island.
The power transmission and other electromechanical systems are underground, and the substation has a neutral design inspired by the local architecture so as not to clash with the landscape. We worked with local professionals, suppliers and companies, resulting in a direct positive impact on the economy of the region.
This wind farm together with the San Bartolomé plant made up the largest wind complex in the Canary Islands in 2017.
