ECOENER attends the Africagua International Forum 2019

Under the motto “Resilience to Climate Change: water, renewable energy and territorial planning”, Africagua 2019 celebrated its sixth edition last November in Fuerteventura.

This initiative is promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands, “Casa África”, the “Cabildo de Fuerteventura” and the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Fuerteventura. The objective of this meeting focuses on the challenges of water, renewable energy and the Agenda for 2030, bringing public and private sectors together to address opportunities in West African countries.

On behalf of ECOENER, the President of the Board of Directors – Luis de Valdivia, the Director of Development – David Coll, and the Director of Institutional Relations – Álvaro Sierra, attended the International Forum. This edition had great international presence, political and economic representatives from Europe, Africa and America participated, and Morocco was invited as a guest country.

Some topics discussed were the presentation of the “Plan África” presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, searches for cooperations for a greater active participation from society in situations of water scarcity and climate change, and renewable energy policies from different countries such as Morocco, Costa Rica, Cape Verde, Senegal, were presented, among others.
