Ecoener receives the highest rating from Standard & Poor’s for its commitment to descarbonisation

  • The Shades of Green (S&P) report highlights the company’s strong environmental awareness and commitment, underlining that all revenues come from 100% renewable sources.
  • The document rates its sustainability strategy highly and emphasises the level of execution for a company of its size.

A Coruña, 20 February 2024. Ecoener has received Standard & Poor’s Dark Green rating (CICERO’s Shades of Green programme), the highest one, for its commitment to decarbonisation, as reflected by the company’s management of operating expenses (OpEX) and capital expenditure (CapEx).

S&P’s report also emphasises the company’s strong environmental awareness and commitment and point out the fact that all revenue comes from 100% renewable sources.

The rating agency establishes five levels to classify companies and assigns each one a certain colour. Within the range of colours, the Dark Green obtained by Ecoener is the highest level, awarded to those organisations with absolute control of carbon emissions in their projects, solutions and long-term operations, and that fight against climate change.

High sustainability vision

To explain this highest rating, S&P’s report rates its sustainability strategy highly and emphasises the level of execution for a company of its size.

It further points out that sustainability governance has a strong presence on the board of directors, as well as on the steering committee. It adds that its reporting approach is transparent and aligned with international best practices.

Ecoener’s Sustainability Committee was one of the three committees created in 2021 by the Board of Directors as a reflection of the company’s commitment to sustainability through governance, incorporating ESG aspects into decision-making.  It is composed of three members, two independent and one proprietary.
